History
CitiesofPaper was born in Venice, Italy, from an idea of Enrico in 2020, in a year that has profoundly changed the way we live and interact with the world. In a period in which borders have been amplified and distances have been felt more than ever. I felt the need to find a way to travel while remaining stationary. No longer being able to physically explore the cities I loved or visit the places I had always dreamed of, I decided to create an alternative: a journey made of paper, color and imagination. This is how CitiesofPaper was born.
In the beginning, this project was a personal refuge, a response to nostalgia and the desire to escape. Through art, I began to draw the cities I had visited, mentally retracing the streets and avenues I had walked in the past. I could feel the atmosphere of those places again, relive the memories linked to precious moments. But I didn't stop there. Imagination took over, leading me to explore even cities that I had not yet seen, but that I felt close to thanks to the stories, images and experiences shared by others. The project, which was initially born as a personal passion, began to grow rapidly, attracting the attention first of people close to me and then of perfect strangers from every corner of the world. CitiesofPaper has turned into a real community of lovers of architecture, travel and art. Today, these works of art have reached 6 of the 7 continents, 30 countries and over 200 different cities. Every city is more than a geographical place: it is a personal experience, a reflection of those who love or dream of it. Over the years, I have had the privilege of creating works for people from all over the world, who have told me unique stories related to their favorite cities. Each commission has become a way to connect, to explore new places through the eyes and heart of someone else. CitiesofPaper is not just art: it is a bridge between people and places, between the past and the future, between dreams and reality.
Today, I look back with pride on the path that this project has taken, starting from a simple need for escape to connect people in every corner of the world. I can only be grateful to all those who believed in this dream and who allowed me to bring a piece of me into their world and their history.
